About My Clients

My practice honors people from marginalized and oppressed communities (Black, Brown, Indigenous People of Color, people with disabilities, Queer community), sex positivity, kink, poly/open relationship orientations, grief/loss/transition, college student mental health, neurodiversity, white accountability, and earth-based spiritual traditions. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are new to and/or unsure if counseling is the best option for their well-being.

My Background and Approach

I consider the work of counseling a true calling. My style is very collaborative; you have valuable wisdom and experience to share. For nearly a decade, I've practiced with the belief our work together should always feel safe while recognizing it might not always feel comfortable as we grow. Growth is my ultimate goal for counseling and you get to direct that growth in our work. My therapeutic framework was built through a variety of experiences including providing services in college counseling centers and forensic settings. Additionally, I have provided crisis services and clinical supervision. I am currently completing a post-doctoral residency specializing in gender and human sexuality. I have a gentle humor and direct communication style. I bring these to every session along with a deep commitment to flexibility and feedback. My wide range of experience allows you to benefit from different perspectives, explore new and different ways of being, and build skills.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in liberation, equity, justice, and honoring individuals, communities, and nature. The world is a big place, and our personal paths are often shaped by family, friends, community, institutions and experiences; sometimes it is these exact experiences that bring someone to counseling. Being mindful of and disrupting oppressive, discriminatory, and colonized ways of being are key personal and professional values and responsibilities I hold. All of my counseling work is done in the context of supporting and exploring cultural and social identity, intersectionality, and liberation whether we are explicitly discussing it in session or not. This includes an understanding of the ways the mental health system has failed and continues to fail clients by engaging in oppression, and my role as a White provider in upholding/dismantling that system.

I have experience with the following
  • Atheism
  • Wicca/Paganism
