Hello, I am so excited that you found your way here! I’m Rebecca- a coffee loving, book reading, foodie and (hopefully) your new therapist.
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in West Hartford, CT
Rebecca received her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Connecticut. She has furthered her work with couples with additional Gottman method trainings. She also uses skills from Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Many of the couples I see come to me intentionally wanting to work on their relationship. Intentionality creates motivation for both partners to self-reflect and change together. What you’ll get from me is a neutral participant, prepared to help you with knowledge and skills shown to improve relationships. I will help you learn to identify your needs and feelings; and express them to each other in ways that you both feel validated and understood.
From perfectionists, helpers, workaholics, mothers and everything in between; most individuals I see are looking for help in increasing happiness, finding confidence and positive self-esteem, and feeling more in control of their life. Sessions are focused on self-reflection and creating direction. I come armed with knowledge and skills- I’ll support you, guide you, and offer alternative perspectives.
Let’s be honest, pregnancy and parenthood can be scary. Fertility issues, trauma, loss, anxiety, and depression are all common in this phase of life. I am trained specifically in PMADs through the Postpartum Support International (PSI) organization. I understand you may feel as though you have nowhere to go with your thoughts and want you to know that you are welcome on my couch. I believe in your strength and our ability to work together to overcome this.
