About My Clients
Do you sometimes feel like you don't have control over your own life? Or that what you want isn't as important as what someone else wants? Maybe you don't like to put yourself first because it's "selfish." Your needs and want matter. You deserve to be seen and experience joy. I'm here to help you discover who you are, make sense of where you've been and embrace your true self.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master’s of Counseling Psychology from Northwest University in 2016. I have been working in the mental health field for 8 years. My experience includes community mental health, family counseling, play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, working in schools, tobacco cessation and personal development. I mostly see young adults in their 20s and 30s who may be experiencing anxiety about a major life transition, low self-esteem, or looking to get "unstuck." My passion is helping people live joyful and meaningful lives. As a therapist, I am not going to tell you how to "fix" your life. I will however provide a secure, nurturing and non-judgmental space for you to work through self discovery, emotional discomfort and build the necessary skills and awareness to find peace and joy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about people, plain and simple. I believe every single human being is unique and this uniqueness is a superpower. It's easy to get caught up in the comparison game or "shoulda woulda couldas," instead of focusing on what truly makes you happy. I believe that when we focus on ourselves and following our joy, it's easy to let others do the same. In my free time, I like to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, read books (biographies, personal development, cheesy romance novels, fantasies...anything really!), explore nature, try new things, travel, Netflix, and spend quality time with friends and family.
