About My Clients

My passion is helping people create healthy relationships with themselves, their bodies, and their world. I love seeing people learn new ways to live with meaning in the world! I can help you feel connected to a larger pattern, and to explore how it affects you and how you affect it. We’ll come up with a goal together to help you gain more peace.

My Background and Approach

Throughout my training I have focused on cognitive-behavioral, process-oriented, and existential therapies. From my perspective, discussing mental health usually includes discussing meaning and Ultimate Purpose. As your therapist, I will take my time with you, allowing myself to be with you and see you as a whole person. Your immediate lived experience, and my own, are the data that drive my understanding and treatment planning. I find it best to form a concept of the entire person, rather than a list of symptoms. By focusing on your mind, body, and spirit I can avoid confining labels. I also focus on how you experience the present. Rather than focusing solely on past trauma or future plans, I focus on how you experience traumatic memories in the present, and how thinking about the future affects you in the moment. This present orientation is key. My training and experience have helped me develop an appreciation for mindfulness and building awareness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

While I am certainly supportive of body positivity, queer people and issues, racial justice, and trans people and issues, I do not have any specialized training, expertise, or experience with these issues in a clinical setting. I do have concrete, specific experience and trainings working with open relationships and non-monogamy, psychedelic harm reduction and integration, sex and kink positivity, 12-step philosophy, vegans, and veterans. I have studied numerous religions and faith traditions in graduate school as part of an overall training in spiritual psychology.

I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Atheism
  • Buddhism
  • Christianity
  • Hinduism
  • Islam
  • Judaism
  • Taoism
  • Wicca/Paganism
  • Interfaith
  • Multifaith
