About My Clients
Many of us develop strategies to cope with life's challenges that become so automatic, we have trouble changing them when they're no longer serving us. Changing the way we engage with our thoughts and feelings requires self-awareness, education, and support. I'm here to provide you with all three: tools to increase self-awareness, knowledge to help you understand yourself better, and a supportive, non-judgmental presence to be an anchor for you throughout your healing process.
My Background and Approach
It's not enough just to talk about what's going on. Therapy with me is more dynamic than talk therapy. I use role playing, mindfulness exercises and creative expression to help you learn new skills and experience yourself in new ways. Healing occurs when we learn something new about ourselves. There are many ways to reach those lightbulb moments. Each individual learns in their own way. Wherever you find yourself in this moment, I want you to know you're not alone. Support is available. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all deserve to be given the skills and resources necessary to live fulfilling lives, free of unnecessary suffering. We live in a culture that still doesn't value mental health nearly enough - if suicide rates are any indication. Too many of us keep our emotional pain hidden from others, and we suffer all sorts of consequences as a result, including to our physical health. When we hold onto chronic stress, our immune systems suffer. My passion is to be a part of the cause to change the story of mental health in this country. May we all have the support we need to live lives that we are proud of. May we all receive the healing we need to live with our hearts open.
