About My Clients

You may be struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma or hopelessness over a lack of control in your life, relationships, or an increasingly scary world. You may be stuck in old, unproductive patterns and need encouragement, accountability and the motivation to improve your relationships and create the life you desire. Whatever brings you to therapy, my only goal is to support your growth, healing and fulfillment. I work with male & female adults, couples, “ever-singles” and older teens (16+).

My Background and Approach

I received my bachelor's in Drama from New York University (BFA) and my master's in Counseling from Cal State Fullerton (MS). In addition to depression, anxiety, identity, and relationship issues, I also specialize in: Elevated levels of fear, stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, hopelessness, and family conflict due to the current political climate and global instability ****** “Ever-singles” (adults who have not formed successful long-term romantic attachments, either by choice or by circumstance) and concerns around identity, purpose, needs identification and fulfillment, and social integration in a primarily coupled world ****** Compassion fatigue, burnout, grief, and vicarious trauma in the helping professions, with a focus on veterinary and other animal-care workers, and those struggling with the recent or impending loss of a beloved animal ****** Pre-marital and early marital counseling for couples who wish to establish a firm foundation upon which to build their lives together

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Who needs therapy? We all do! Whatever the nature or severity of our individual struggles, we can all benefit from an hour a week dedicated to introspection, healing, and increased self-understanding in a warm, nonjudgmental environment where we feel safe and supported. Gentle humor and lightheartedness – when appropriate and appreciated – are hallmarks of my approach, as I believe laughter and a humor-oriented mindset can be deeply powerful coping and healing mechanisms, even in life’s bleakest moments. Laughter through tears truly is my favorite emotion - I hope you’ll come to feel the same way! I am a passionate, committed progressive political activist. I believe we must do all we can to take care of the most vulnerable among us. Authenticity is my most deeply-held value. I am pro- LGBTQ+, civil/human rights, choice, diversity, equity. I seek compassionate justice for all. I believe animals are the closest thing we have to angels. I believe we are all just humans, trying our best.
