About My Clients

Are you feeling overwhelmed by your relationships with others - or maybe with yourself? Perhaps you feel like you're drowning in your own thoughts and feelings and you don't know how to untangle the mess. Sometimes the weight we carry gets unbearably heavy - I can relate, because we've all been there! The first integral concept: you're not alone. Whether you are struggling with one specific thing or many overlapping issues, therapy will provide the safe environment you need to uncover YOU.

My Background and Approach

I earned my Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I began my career working with clients through anxiety, depression, and trauma, primarily in the intensive outpatient setting. Here I frequently addressed crisis management and self-harm/suicide prevention, and also built my experience in helping my clients handle life's everyday complexities. In addition to working through anxiety, depression, and trauma, I specialize in relational issues, blended families, divorce, self-esteem, and identity. I tend to spend time with clients helping them understand themselves as a whole, before we move on to managing distressing life situations. I prefer using solution-focused and real-life approaches to equip my clients and allow them to feel stable and prepared for life outside of my office. Clients who work with me appreciate my direct communication and candor, and have valued my explanations and descriptions that help them understand their own experience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I became passionate about mental healthcare in my young teens and have remained an advocate for destigmatization of mental health issues and treatment. I believe the world would be a much more peaceful place if everyone experienced therapy just one time. I am a firm believer in energies impacting our mental health, and respect if this is something you don't buy into: I maintain non-judgment in my practice. I am married with three amazing stepchildren, run a dog training business with my husband, and very much enjoy the outdoors. I'm generally humor-based and direct in my communication, and have the utmost respect for the fact that we all communicate differently and love to help people discover what works for them.
