About My Clients

I am a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. As a daughter of first generation immigrants, I understand the need for a multicultural perspective and work closely with minorities. I am committed to providing individualized treatment by honoring clients' needs and goals in order to facilitate the most meaningful change for them. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults that struggle with a variety of issues, including but not limited to the ones listed below.

My Background and Approach

I obtained my bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida in 2012 and my master’s in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2016. Whether you are unsure how to conquer anxiety, battling depression, struggling to heal from past pains, or experiencing what feels like a low point in life, it would be my honor to support you. Outside of private practice, I have worked as a clinician in crisis stabilization, long term residential treatment for survivors of trafficking, and an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility. Lastly I have extensive training in CBT, DBT, EMDR, somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness based therapy, and more.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I would describe myself as empathetic, warm, and perceptive. I believe that unhealthy behaviors / beliefs are often developed as a method of coping with something overwhelming. I also believe that it's never too late to learn and grow, because I witness this every day. It is such a humbling process watching clients put in the hard work and build resilience through their toughest times. I strongly believe in taking a holistic approach when it comes to mental health since most of the work continues outside of the office. I love incorporating somatic psychotherapy into this work to help my clients attain mind and body congruence. The nervous system doesn't use words, so that means you just can't "talk" your way out of certain emotions. Disconnects are often noticeable when a client says "I know ___ but I still feel ___." That's where a somatic approach can help bridge that gap. Change is hard and uncomfortable for most people, and I will work with you to honor that process.
