About My Clients
In the therapy room, I focus on guiding clients through their way of being in the world, their awareness of self, others, and their environment, to allow them to carve out the change and sense of being they desire in their lives. This holistic and collaborative approach to treatment prioritizes creating a safe, non-judgmental, and trusting therapeutic relationship to allow for client self-exploration and achievement.
My Background and Approach
I primarily utilize Gestalt and Existential theories as my foundation for work with clients, but prefer an integrative and client-tailored combination of Existentialism, Gestalt, Attachment Theory, Family Systems, and Strength Based Therapy modalities. I find these methodologies to be very enriching and mobilizing for addressing trauma and ‘stuckness’, by providing a variety of means of expression and exploring the client’s way of being in the world. I have spent several years working in mental health advocacy and care, aiding individuals across a variety of cultural identities to navigate and enrich their quality of life, as well as highlighting the resilience and possibility already present in it. I specialize in working with individuals with ADHD, acute and complex trauma, as well as disabilities and chronic pain/illnesses. I have also worked extensively with clients to navigate healing of generational trauma, inner child work, and acculturation experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe individuals are ever-changing, moment to moment, and with that, naturally pursuing a healthy establishment of authenticity and balance in self-expression. I view the human experience, particularly the therapeutic work done in session, as a spiritual process and take great care in honoring that.
