About My Clients

You are in your career and successful, and still feel like you are not measuring up. For years you’ve hidden yourself away, tucked into a box, because you were told you weren’t good enough as you are. You had to follow “the rules” of your family, friends, or religious community in order to be loved and accepted. Rules like: what to wear, how to act, who to love. I know what it’s like to internalize messages that I had to live a certain way in order to be accepted. I can help you be fully you.

My Background and Approach

I am an artist. I believe all people are creative and creativity is a doorway into the healing process. I integrate creative arts into sessions to help my clients get back in touch with their bodies and tap into their imagination. Creative arts in session may include: coloring, drawing, listening to music, sculpting, etc. I invite my clients to participate in creative arts activities at their level of comfort. I am a clinical psychologist. I am trained in several approaches to therapy, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). So what does this mean? I integrate creative arts with more “traditional” approaches to therapy based on the goals and needs of my clients. I work best with people who are creative and are open to exploring creativity in session. I specialize in working with people who have left the church, people who still identify as Christian, and people in the LGBTQIA+ community.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I’m a human being and I come into the therapy room as authentically me. I’m warm, compassionate, and genuinely care about people. I’ll laugh with you, cry with you, cuss with you, and help you work through the shit you are struggling with. I recognize being a cisgender, white, able-bodied woman, grants me unearned privileges and power, and I’m committed to actively examining and challenging my own internal biases that show up. I value all people, therefore I approach therapy celebrating all identities and parts of the self. Your identities may be similar or different than mine, and we will discuss the impact these identities have on our therapeutic relationship. You’ve experienced enough shame, judgment, and rejection from others (or yourself) about your identity. I accept you for who you are right now. I am committed to the continual work of anti-discrimination, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and anti-ableism inside and outside the therapy room. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.
