About My Clients
I enjoy working with LGBQ/TGNC, clients who have experienced interpersonal violence, homelessness, HIV+. I am most useful working with teens and adults struggling with gender/sexuality, substance use, Dual Disorders, life transitions, trauma, Anxiety and Mood Disorders. We would be a good fit if you are ready to put in the hard work to heal yourself. Are you willing to be challenged on long held beliefs? If so, let's get to work!
My Background and Approach
I received my Master of Social Work degree from University of Pittsburgh, with a certificate in Integrated Healthcare. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Clients have described me as direct, transparent, compassionate, knowledgeable, funny, relatable, and solution focused. My therapy style is multifaceted and tailored to meet your goals. Most often I utilize Harm Reduction, CBT, EMDR, and ACT. I practice therapy from a psychodynamic, holistic, and systems approach. I also offer low barrier WPATH letters for gender affirming care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The oppressive structures we live in can greatly impact our mental health. I believe it is important to address that directly in therapy. It is my personal and professional responsibility to challenge these systems. Your lived experience is what matters most in my office. I want to hear your truth! I believe that building a solid foundation of trust and understanding is important for you to begin the healing process. Personally, I enjoy setting off the smoke alarms when I bake. Kayaking, buying books I will never read, and spending hours cultivating my island on Animal Crossing.
