Stress can be part of our daily lives, but it shouldn't impact our ability to go about our days. I work collaboratively with you on identifying those big stressors and figuring out what's in and out of your control. Regardless of what's in and out of your control, we work together to develop a plan to either problem-solve what's in your control or identify effective coping strategies for those things that are out of your control.

The world around us is constantly changing, thus we are constantly changing and growing. Change can be scary, but it does not have to be avoided or debilitating. I work with you to determine what growth looks like for you and figure out your goals. Working together, we break down those large goals into smaller, more manageable, and achievable steps.

Anxiety is part of being human. However, when the anxiety gets to be too much and is now impacting your daily functioning, that's when it's time to change things up. I work with you to figure out the triggers of those anxious thoughts and feelings and we work on decreasing the intensity, severity, and duration of those thoughts and feelings. The goal is not zero anxiety- you are human. The goal is manageable anxiety.

CBT is an evidence-based treatment that has been found to be effective with a variety of mental health symptoms. It's a form of therapy that is structured and goal-oriented. I work collaboratively with you to target thinking patterns that can be contributing to your mood and behaviors and find ways to help find alternative thoughts.

Person-centered therapy is also known as client-centered or Rogerian therapy. It provides a non-authoritative approach (there are no power struggles in treatment with me!), and emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship. My sessions are safe, comfortable, non-judgmental, genuine, and collaborative.
