About My Clients
You’ve been struggling for so long with your internal knowledge of who you are versus how the world defines you. It feels like a constant battle to navigate the simplest situations - to feel so disconnected from or distressed by your body while pretending like everything is fine. You can be so anxious in social situations and depressed and exhausted when you’re alone. You feel ashamed and confused, but also sometimes excited and hopeful. What could life look like if you were living in alignment?
My Background and Approach
In 2016, I attended the annual True Colors conference for the first time. I was awed by the beauty, vulnerability, and strength represented by the gender expansive community. I was also moved by the resiliency of this population and their brave journeys in a world that can often be overwhelming. It was at that time I made a commitment to focus my work on offering gender-affirming therapy for those individuals seeking mental health support. Additionally, I am a World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) member and I utilize WPATH's Standards of Care when conducting mental health assessments for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Gender Affirming Surgery Referral Letters.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I am continually renewed by my work with clients. I use creative techniques and real-world strategies to help clients identify and remove obstacles to peace and happiness in their lives. While I most often work with gender expansive clients, I love to help enhance coping skills that encourage sustainable personal growth for adults coping with transitions in their lives. I am committed to providing a welcoming and safe space for all clients to confidentially share experiences while working towards their goals.
