About My Clients
I work with a lot of clients that are working through a life transition. This could be a major life event, determining who they are or meant to be, or grief. Often these life transitions can be challenging for us (change and uncertainty is difficult) but I believe it is through these moments that we can become more of our true selves and learn how to become more capable and stable. I am currently not taking additional new clients at this time.
My Background and Approach
My background stems from a humanistic approach to therapy. When I work with clients I come in with the mindset that each person is the expert in his or her own life. Each person has their own story and experiences that they are bringing with them. My place is not to tell someone why or how they are doing something, but rather, to companion them on a journey of discovering together their answers. Going on that journey with someone and hearing their stories is one of the greatest honors of being a therapist, being trusted with someone's truths and stories. I work with clients to help create a space that they can feel supported to accomplish and discover the things that are most important to them, explore and understand the emotions that arise throughout that process, and find a place of meaning and understanding.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that true healing is possible for everyone. Finding the connection between our minds, bodies, and spirits takes time, but the more we are able to foster these connections the more we can have understanding. In my office, everyone is worthy of love, support, and acceptance. We are committed to the support of the LGBTQIA+ community in our area, and provide a safe space for our clients to explore and grow in their identity. We believe that Black Lives Matter, and continually endeavor to ensure not only a justice-informed community of healing, but also to dedicate ourselves to proactively anti-racist education and counseling interventions. We also are committed to our Manna Basket Financial Program, which takes 10% of our receipts before taxes and is used to provide assistance to those clients who may need financial support. This is our biggest effort to combat financial holdbacks for those who are seeking services.
