About My Clients
I enjoy working with individuals who are college age or older of diverse cultural backgrounds, religions, genders, and sexualities. The issues that I best serve include those struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Self-Esteem, Peer Relationships, Coping Skills, Self-Exploration, Life Transitions, and Stress.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in the state of Maryland. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland College Park and earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. I’ve had 3 years of experience in the mental health field. I have also worked in the Sheppard Pratt Health System and volunteered for a crisis text line which has strengthened my skills in crisis intervention.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I understand that therapy is not a one size fits all, so my approach is collaborative and adaptable to meet each client's specific needs. I take time to help clients explore and understand how their past experiences impact their current ways of coping and worldview. Using this insight, we work to identify common themes and underlying patterns to unlearn and challenge negative thought patterns. Empathy and unconditional positive regard are key elements which help us build a connection to evoke empowerment and change. You are encouraged to take the lead during therapy as you are the expert on yourself. I also can equip you with skills and knowledge that you can use throughout your life to continuously accomplish your goals.
