About My Clients
I specialize in trauma and attachment. My clients might have felt they were doing a good job, as they worked hard to become successful and break unhealthy family cycles. Yet, they are having some of the same feelings they did as when they were a child or making some of the same mistakes they've sworn they wouldn't make. They've come to reflect and see how far they've come, yet those feelings they worked so hard not to have keep surfacing and they are ready to make a change!
My Background and Approach
One of the modalities I love using for trauma is Brainspotting (BSP) because you get access to trauma that is stuck in parts of your brain where there is no language, so this means you can heal trauma without talking about it! For parent-child attachment, I love the modality of parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) because the child gets to play with their parent while addressing trauma and behavioral issues, while the parents get to witness their parent-child bond strengthen all while increasing parenting skills and positive behaviors in the child. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a first college generation Mexican American born and raised in California! I was raised in a single parent home, in which the value of education and good work ethic was placed above healing past trauma and forming healthy relationships was a foreign concept. It was precisely there, in the middle of all of the love and unhealthy dynamics, that my passion for mental health was ignited! I am grateful to all of the resilient women in my family who's sacrifices afforded me the opportunity to attain a higher education, have a successful career and through it create hope, healing and light into the lives of others...You!
