My Background and Approach
I am a skilled clinician with over 20 years of counseling experience in a broad range of issues and experienced with a large variety of evidence based therapeutic techniques (CBT, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, DBT, and ACT). I provide a holistic & integrative approach that addresses the big picture of who you are to gain understanding of what strengths you have to work with, deficiencies we can build upon, and maladaptive patterns we can replace. I'm skilled at making people feel comfortable, safe, accepted, & respected; which sets the groundwork to be able to open up, share & be vulnerable, honest, raw to be able to address core issues. My specialty is creating corrective emotional experiences, brain re-training, & equipping my clients with solid understanding & skills specific to their needs to benefit them for the rest of their life. I use a direct solution focused approach while incorporating humor, laughter, education, & motivation to create a fun therapeutic experience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is capable of change, growth, & expansion to be able to cultivate the life they want and deserve. I believe we all have struggles & challenges that can become blocks that keep us stuck and trapped in distress & turmoil. Sometimes we need an outsider to pull us out, talk us through, motivate, support, & equip us with strategies and a roadmap to navigate through those difficult seasons of life. Those who are courageous enough to reach out and utilize a skilled clinician will learn, change, & grow from life challenges & come out victorious, stronger, & better prepared to manage themselves in the future. I believe education & understanding ourselves is important. I educate my patients on their conditions, how the brain & body responds, strategies to cope & deal the challenges so my patients are equipped, prepared, & confident in their abilities. I provide guided visualization & experiential approaches that do not require a lot of talking but is incredibly effective.
