I am a multicultural/multilingual psychotherapist offering culturally sensitive practices and mindfulness. Services in English, Portuguese.
Psychotherapist in San Francisco, CA
Supervised by Diane Deutsch P.h D # PSY 8517
As a psychodynamic therapist, I place importance on understanding each person's individual history and narrative. In addition, how personal and cultural narratives intersect in relationships. It is not arbitrary when two people find each other and embark on a journey to form and maintain a relationship. There are various aspects of inter-generational transmission of trauma that is taken to account. My areas of expertise include multiethnic and interracial couples and multicultural families.
My moto is: “To honor the scope of human diversity and promote Intercultural Dialogue”. Overall, with my life experience and my specialized training, I utilize a culturally sensitive framework to work with diverse peoples fostering wellbeing in a multicultural world.
I provide psychodynamic therapy, also known as insight-oriented therapy, focusing on conscious and unconscious processes as they are manifested in a person's present behavior. In addition, I incorporate into the work Trauma informed and Somatic modalities, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
