About My Clients

I frequently work with clients experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety, social anxiety, and depression, as well as survivors of past trauma, including abuse. I find that clients I work well with are often in the process of creating healthy boundaries, finding out and understanding who they are, creating a practice of self-compassion, and understanding their own unique neurology. I have found that the process of matching therapist and client is very intuitive--reach out if it feels right!

My Background and Approach

First and foremost, I listen deeply and focus on building a working therapeutic relationship with you. This is the foundation on which deep exploration, grieving, self-compassion, and healing can unfold. I use a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to offer therapy customized to your unique identity, background, culture, gender, sexuality, neurology, and needs as a client. My approach is informed by my formal training in counseling, and also by my own spiritual path, including a residency at a Buddhist monastery and plant medicine ceremonies. By learning to love ourselves unconditionally, we can also love others and accept reality. I believe love lies at the center of everything, even our own deepest pain.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It's hard to be a human being in today's world. Loneliness and isolation have brought many of us to the brink of personal or spiritual crisis. In a sea of seemingly endless options, happiness seems elusive. Advertisements and advice for numbing this pain come from every direction, yet nothing seems to truly help. At the same time, pain wells up in our bodies, hearts, and minds, making us anxious, obsessive, angry, or heartbroken (or perhaps all of the above). Old wounds reopen, our younger selves cry out for our attention, and the emotions that arise are sometimes overwhelming, or even terrifying. My belief is that in this time of personal and global challenge, we are called to help heal each other and the Earth by listening, holding space, bearing witness. Each of us has our own role to play. I believe that my role is to help support you on your own unique path.
