I use a combination of CBT and DBT to help clients become unstuck, provide practical tools and create an illuminating and creative environment where change is most likely to occur. This goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and so change the way they feel.
My approach is based on individual needs. The most important part of my work as an integrative psychotherapist is creating a trusting and authentic connection with my clients. Psychoeducation and strengths-based techniques can help clients help themselves. Understanding your own patterns and working on creating new ones, by using our mind's ability to create new pathways is using neuroplasticity to make lasting changes in your life.
Teenagers are at an exciting time in their lives where everything is new. Having an open mind means they are ripe for learning and making great changes. It also means they are finding their way and often making mistakes; it’s part of the painful process of growing. Teens often need an understanding ear, focused on helping them find ways to alleviate their suffering. What makes my practice different is my ability to help teens harness their amazing capabilities and navigate these waters together.
I specialize in working with anxiety, depression and mood disorders. Folks often experience more than one symptom at a time. I see clients who are experiencing grief and loss, are in crisis, experience transphobia, gender spectrum and identity concerns, have existing trauma, chronic illnesses and pain and more. These experiences and concerns can be contributing factors for anxiety, depression, ADD, and mood disorders. I work with behavioral therapy to help find solutions and reduce symptoms.
