About My Clients
I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults with Anxiety, Depression, relationship issues, trauma, emotional dysregulation, sleep disturbance and work related stress. Therapy seems daunting at first but taking a step back and untying those knots in our thought process prepares us for a wholesome life experience. My goal is to provide my clients with a safe environment where they are valued and understood to allow them to self-reflect and develop resilience for the future.
My Background and Approach
I have earned my Masters in Psychology from India and completed my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins university. I have worked both at inpatient and outpatient facilities including my volunteer work and internships over the years. I have received an extensive training in treating anxiety disorders, using mindfulness-informed treatment and other integrative methods in mental health. My methodology of treatment is tailored to individual’s specific needs. I use integrative treatment approach using techniques from Cognitive Behavior therapy, Mindfulness interventions, and Sensory Psychotherapy. My initial goal is to create a safe place for my clients and help them learn skills to explore their unhelpful thinking patterns and manage their difficult emotions by incorporating various cognitive and behavioral strategies. I try to provide enough resources/skills to my clients so that they can practice at home and become attuned to them.
