About My Clients

I work with adults (18+) with both complex and acute trauma that manifests as PTSD, dissociation, depression, and anxiety. I am passionate about working with oppressed and marginalized populations and many of my clients identify as women, non-binary, trans, queer, or POC. My clients often, like me, see themselves as outside-the-box, empathetic, intuitive and spiritually attuned humans.

My Background and Approach

My approach to therapy is informed by my holistic philosophy that an individual’s mind, body and spirit are all integral to healing. My work is grounded in my values of community, social justice, and personal empowerment. My role as a therapist is one of helping clients unlock their innate ability to heal self and to steer them toward a path of self-discovery. Some of the theoretical orientations I incorporate include Psychosynthesis, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Humanistic Psychology. I frequently use EMDR, Lifespan Integration, and IFS to help clients integrate parts of self that have become fragmented throughout their lifetime. These modalities are designed to access unresolved trauma that has been stored in the body and unconscious mind and move it into an integrated resolved state.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

What I value most in life is relationship. Relationship with family, with community, with society and with the world we live in. I believe systemic oppression is one of the most pervasive sources of trauma in our culture and by healing our own individual trauma we create a powerful ripple effect out to collective trauma. As a queer femme trauma survivor, I believe doing my own work right alongside my clients is part of the beauty of psychotherapy and one of the things I love most about what I do. I want to promote a culture of belonging over our present day shame culture and get very excited about talking, writing and speaking about this topic!
