Mental Health Counselor in Seattle, WA
I have had extensive trauma trainings in multiple modalities and have the skills to help clients deal with all levels of dissociative symptoms. I regularly receive consultation from a more experienced EMDR therapist to insure that I am providing safe and effective treatment for my dissociative clients.
I am fully trained in EMDR and continue to expand my knowledge in this quickly growing field. I engage in regular consultation so that I can provide the most effective EMDR treatment.
I did my graduate school practicum at Seattle Counseling Service, the LGBTQ site in Seattle. I received extensive training related to this population during my year there and continued to get LGBTQ competent supervision throughout my two years as an associate. I frequently continue to work with this population and identify as queer myself.
This is by far the most common diagnosis I work with and a diagnosis that I myself hold. My training in EMDR, IFS and Lifespan Integration allow me to work effectively with all clients with PTSD.
I have an extended history with christianity and often work with clients that are recovering from religious abuse. I consider mind, body and soul to be integral to healing and help clients connect with the spiritual aspect of themself. I had a psychosynthesis focus in my grad school program and am continuing that with focused spiritual trainings that align with my other therapy modalities, especially IFS.
Been using IFS since I started private practice and have done their online training. Enrolled in the full training this coming fall. Consider IFS to be the foundation of my work and the lens with which I see the human psyche and experience.
Fully trained in EMDR and utilize consultation to provide safe and effective trauma processing.
