My Background and Approach

I graduated in 2008 with a Master of Arts degree in Human Services Counseling from Regent University. I started practicing the year prior after receiving my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I counsel individuals, couples, and families, aged 5 and above. My areas of expertise are relationship counseling (pre-marriage, marriage, friends), anxiety and depression therapy, working with trauma survivors (veterans, abuse), and foster care/adoption issues. My clinical approach is primarily CBT and Biblical Counseling, but I use many different modalities in trying to find the best method for each individual client. While I've named my business Christian Care Services so those seeking such therapy can easily find me, there are many who come to me with different faiths or no faith at all. I strive to listen, respect, and give the best therapy possible to every person. Helping each person to find resolution to whatever concern they bring to counseling is what I love to do.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone should have the right to live their life as they choose as long as it doesn't hurt others. I also believe there is one creator God who gave us that choice. That being said, here's more about me- I am currently a wife of 18 years. I have four biological children from my first marriage of 21 years. I adopted three children in that marriage. Then I got to be a step-mother to three more children and my current husband and I have adopted two more. One of my adopted daughters passed away at age 5. I still count her as one of my 12 children. I now have 23 grandchildren (two are currently as yet unborn for a bit longer). I value family. I believe healthy and happy families make healthy and happy families. Dysfunctional, unhappy families often lead to more dysfunction and unhappiness. That's why I love working with families and relationships. They can bring the greatest joy, but also the deepest sorrow. But we can overcome dysfunction and unhappiness and create joy.

I have experience with the following
  • Christianity
  • Judaism
