I describe my therapeutic approach as trauma-informed (addressing how chronic stress and trauma impact our bodies and behaviors), attachment-focused, and systemic (understanding the impact of relationships, community, culture, and systems of oppression). I have specialized training to help people process through trauma and regulate distressed parts of themselves. I am interactive in my work with clients of all ages and believe in the power of laughter and joy in therapy. Therapy doesn’t have to be depressing in order to build our capacity for connection and growth!
With kids and youth, I tailor therapy based on their needs and use a family-systems approach rooted in attachment theory often utilizing aspects of TheraplayⓇ, EMDR, and expressive arts to help strengthen families and address challenges. I require at least one caregiver to be actively involved in the therapy process.
With adult individuals, I use EMDR, emotionally-focused parts work, and/or Narrative Exposure Therapy.
