About My Clients

* Online sessions only during COVID-19 outbreak* If you have experienced any type of trauma in your life, you may have also noticed that it can manifest in many ways in your personal, professional, sexual, and romantic relationships. My goal is to help people who have been through traumatic experiences to find new and meaningful ways to unburden themselves from problematic coping and to integrate what has happened to them in the past into a more tolerable and dare I say, joyful existence.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Portland State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, also from Portland State University. I draw from the integrated theoretical frameworks of Person-Centered Therapy, Feminist Theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS is the stuff you will hear me talk most about in counseling. IFS works from the stance that there is an inherently good, wise, and health-seeking core Self to each person. Part of our work together will be to get you in touch with your core Self and begin identifying and helping other parts of you that may be unintentionally disconnecting you from your own sense of calm, connection, confidence, and clarity. That process is unique to each person and we will cater the tools we use to match your needs and goals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I work in session, and in my role as a social justice advocate in society at large to promote non-discriminatory practices, human rights, equality, justice, and safety for all persons. I do not discriminate on the basis of age, race/ethnicity, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, relationship(s) style/structure, socioeconomic status, mental or physical ability/disability status, nation of origin, or religious beliefs. I am an LGBTQ2A+, polyamory/open relationship, and sex-positivity affirming counselor. Additionally, I provide a safe and judgement-free therapeutic atmosphere for people in all occupations/professions, including sex-work. There is safe, joyous, and welcoming space in my office for all of your identities and ways of expressing yourself!
