About My Clients
I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and parents dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, family conflict, self-esteem issues, and/or life stress.
My Background and Approach
I am a client-centered, trauma-focused therapist. I am trained in EMDR and have experience with a number of other modalities, although EMDR is my go-to method. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is crucial in the healing process, and I strive to connect with each client and help them feel accepted in a non-judgmental and safe environment. I see therapy as an opportunity to slow down the frantic pace of life and explore ways to cope, regain control of life's challenges, increase self-worth, and rebuild or enrich relationships. My goal is to help you improve what's already working, gain tools for what isn't, and get to the root of your problems so you can find lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We're all unique. We each have our own values, beliefs, and strengths. Sometimes we feel stuck or trapped, but there is hope for a brighter future. It just takes some help from an outsider (me) to spark the change we want. Mental health issues such as past trauma, anxiety, and depression don't have to be something you have to deal with for the rest of your life! I believe we all have the ability to overcome these challenges. In my personal life, I am an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
