Everyone deserves a safe space to share their story and be heard. Let's work together to dismantle shame and help you become the true you.
One of the unique perspectives that I bring to counseling folks with ADD, is that I embrace the positive aspects of neuro diversity. While helping you organize and manage your life I simultaneously can help you see how your thinking and learning is a gift, and can be of great benefit to you. I have the experience and education as a professional therapist, and teacher, but I also have the perspective of a peer as I live with ADD and I am raising a child who has ADD.
Creating a happy, healthy family environment is not as easy as it appears in social media! Getting help to address our family struggles is a healthy way to respond to the needs of each family member. When a child is hurting their behavior affects the whole family and the family affects that child. Family therapy can be incredibly healing and helpful. It can bring peace and comfort to a home or homes. I specialize in families with adolescents who are struggling beyond "normal teen behavior".
Anxiety has become incredibly prevalent in our society, but the good news is it is treatable! Symptoms of anxiety range from persistent worry to trouble sleeping, panic attacks to stomach pain or diarrhea. Sometimes anxiety can also look and feel like depression and it often co-occurs with both depression and ADD. Anxiety can be effectively treated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I use CBT and other techniques to help clients recognize and change or challenge their anxious thoughts.
