About My Clients
I cultivate a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to begin with (or continue) your healing journey by being client-centered and trauma-informed. I have a strong background in working with children, adolescents, parents, and families in a range of issues like adjustment disorder, AD/HD, behavioral or school issues, and parenting.
My Background and Approach
Within my work with families, I have done a lot of individual work with clients in areas like anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, grief, trauma and PTSD, substance use, anger management, and LGBTQ+ issues. I collaborate with clients to identify their goals and expectations for therapy, as well as any fears or reservations they may have about therapy. Deciding to come to therapy can be a challenging decision in itself, especially when we internalize the stigma that exists within our families and communities. I see my clients as individuals existing within many wider systems that impact their lives every day. I meet clients where they are in the present moment, no matter the stage of change they are in. I engage clients in talk therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing; and expressive therapies like art and play.
