About My Clients
Are you experiencing less joy in your current relationship? Or are you single and wondering if you’ll ever meet the right person? Just not where you thought you'd be at this age? I completely understand and have helped many people struggling with these same concerns. The best first step is to explore the most important relationship you have---the one with yourself. In doing so, you are setting the stage to create lasting and meaningful relationships with others.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing psychotherapy for 20 years. I completed my undergraduate degree at DePaul University in Chicago in 1997 and my Masters degree from Loyola University in Chicago in 1999. I'm a sole proprietor in private practice and licensed to work with clients in Florida, Illinois and Wisconsin. My therapeutic style is warm, empathic, and non-judgmental. I work from a strength's perspective and utilize a variety of treatment modalities including (but not limited to) CBT, Family Systems, Psychodynamic, Solution-focused and Mindfulness, depending on your needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that to feel generally happy, we need to live our lives as authentically as possible. To give ourselves permission to be who we are and not suppress parts of our selves to accommodate a relationship or the needs of others. We are taught to "think this way" or "behave that way" and over time we develop a mindset of who we are "supposed" to be. The farther the distance between our authentic self and the lives we are leading, the greater the chance for anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. Therapy is an opportunity to bridge the gap between the two.
