About My Clients
I have experience working with clients at all life stages but specialize in working with young adults and adolescents, specifically with issues related to self-image or identity, ADHD, and self-destructive behaviors (binge eating, self-harm, substance abuse, etc). I also have experience working with many common issues including relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and OCD.
My Background and Approach
It is always my goal to collaborate with my clients to create the most effective and personalized treatment options. This works to help clients build self-awareness instead of trying to make changes before they have a solid self-concept. This encourages improved self-image and lasting growth. I primarily draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Positive Psychology but I also use a variety of interventions from other therapies including person-centered, CBT, DBT, and Gestalt therapies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone is worthy of self-love and we all deserve the chance to work on ourselves. I think it is common to find poor self-image or self-loathing at the center of the issues that keep us from thriving. This area is close to my heart because I've spent most of my life dealing with weight, self-compassion, identity issues, and anxiety. I had no idea where I belonged. I still struggle sometimes but have learned to give myself the space to stumble and grow as I go. Join me in feeling liberated to be whoever you areā¦ and learn to love the quirks. As a licensed therapist, I love helping people understand themselves and grow as individuals. As a toddler mom and wife, I like to have fun with my family anywhere outside. As an individual, I practice yoga, do a plethora of crafts, read and watch sci-fi, and generally try to goof off every chance I get.
