About My Clients

I'm is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Philadelphia. I work with individuals and families who are looking for support around LGBTQIA+ issues, eating disorder recovery, body image struggles, trauma, perfectionism, and ADHD. I myself am queer, and am passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

My Background and Approach

I'm trained in Family Systems Theory, which means that I can help you explore how various aspects of your life (e.g., family upbringing, societal influences, personal experiences) influence the way you make decisions and make meaning of your life. I can help you identify solutions to problems and use skills that have worked for you in the past, and explore how those solutions and skills may be of use now. I can also work with you on identifying the stories you tell yourself, and examining how these stories impact your day-to-day lives and relationships. I aim to help clients find love and compassion for all parts of themselves. My approach can be described as relational; I tend to use humor and appropriate self-disclosure to normalize the struggle of the human experience and help you feel less alone. I prioritize establishing a genuine connection with clients and creating a space where you feel comfortable and seen, as this is a key factor in getting something out of therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My values stand in body positivity, and I’m a HAES-informed and LGBTQIA+ competent provider. I firmly believes that there are no “good” or “bad” foods, and am strongly anti-diet. I'm committed to anti-racism, and acknowledging my role and fighting for social justice. I welcome clients of all racial identities, ethnicities, sexualities (orientation, identity, relationships), and abilities. I truly believe that clients are the expert on their own experiences, and I work collaboratively with clients to ensure they are getting the most that they can out of therapy. I know that it can be challenging and uncomfortable to start therapy for the first time or to begin with a new therapist - this is a transition that I'm equipped to help you ease into smoothly. One way I do this is by having all new clients to do a brief phone consultation prior to scheduling a first session just to get an idea if we may be a good fit for one another. I look forward to hearing from you!
