Quantum physics demonstrates how energy is the common denominator of our physical existance. I believe learning how to understand and master your use of energy is key to feeling your best. So I have studied and trained extensively in various energy systems and how to rebalance and clear old patterns from the chakras, to nadis, meridians, and auric field. Woo-woo to some, essential to those who choose to work with me.
Mindfulness has become a way of being for me, personally. So this is the base from which I practice and share what works with clients whose minds are "too busy," and whose lives feel too fast-paced. Mindfulness can be practiced formally, as in discreet meditations, or informally, with momentary awareness to re-orient you to the present moment. I have studied and trained in this modality for 3 decades and continue to learn as new research results are available.
My approach is informed by a breadth and depth of study and practice that incorporates ecological, feminist, transpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, plant wisdom, intention, intuitive, shamanic, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, relational, supportive and mind-body approaches to foster right relationship and wellbeing in the context of our life circumstances, culture, ecosystem, relationships, and soul.
As a sensitive, myself, I have learned to work with my energy system to balance and restore it, recognize its warning flags, and keep my energies humming. Energy medicine techniques, clearing non-self energy, releasing energetic impacts from others, learning to discern what is yours from what belongs to another, and developing healthy emotional and energetic boundaries are specialties of mine. Rather than seeing your sensitivity as a problem. you can learn to recognize it as a valuable tool.
Trauma exists on a continuum - from smaller incidents to overwhelming ones. I have experience with healing attachment trauma, rebuilding a more secure base. I can help you learn to recognize emotional shock, and how to treat it. If you dissociate, I can help you create cognitive and sensory foci to ground and reconnect. When useful, I offer mind-body techniques like Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), and AIT (clearing trauma from the chakras). I've also worked extensively with clients w/DID
Learning how to regulate your nervous system's response to stressors using Poly-vagal theory, yogic breathing techniques, visualization, and energy medicine is highy effective. In addition, we will combine CBT, Mindfulness practices, exercise and movement, sound therapy and nutrition to support your body and mind in finding better balance. We will identify what you might let go of that may be fueling the tension and worry you experience. We will practice calling up how you'd rather feel.
