About My Clients
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with specific training in somatic and cognitive approaches to treating trauma in adults. I also have state and national certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is a model that is empirically supported for youth ages 7-18 who have experienced trauma. Additionally, I have completed Gottman Level 1 training, a model for treating couples. I work with individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and adults.
My Background and Approach
I obtained my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Saint Joseph. My clinical experience is in a variety of settings including outpatient, private practice, and school-based settings. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, relationship issues, and traumatic grief.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a woman of color, a military spouse, and an ally, my approach to therapy is always culturally sensitive. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, the core of my work is not only in helping individuals, but also in looking at the greater context of how we are all part of larger systems that have a great impact on our lives. In my clinical work, I take a holistic approach to helping my clients reach their short-term and long-term goals.
