About My Clients
The start of therapy is often one of the most important steps we can take towards reaching our goals. I am grateful to be considered as you embark on your new journey. Adults, children, individuals, families, and couples are all welcome at my practice. I specialize in areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and relationship issues.
My Background and Approach
I obtained my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Saint Joseph. My clinical experience is in a variety of settings including outpatient, private practice, college, and school-based settings. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with specific training in somatic and cognitive approaches to treating trauma in adults. I have state and national certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is an empirically supported model for youth who have experienced trauma. I am also an EMDRIA approved EMDR trained clinician and utilize this model in working with adults who have presenting concerns ranging from trauma to anxiety, grief, and phobias. I have completed Gottman Level 1 & 2 training, a model for treating couples & have advanced training in DBT for mindfulness, distress tolerance, improving interpersonal relationships, and emotion regulation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my clinical work, I take a holistic approach to treatment, with specific attention to inclusion, cultural sensitivity, and mind body wellness. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, the core of my work is not only in helping individuals, but also in looking at the greater context of how we are all part of larger systems that have a great impact on our lives. My main role is to guide and support you on your journey to reaching your short-term and long-term goals.
