About My Clients
I'm passionate and specialize in working with children and women to help manage anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, divorce, trauma, social skills, grief, academic challenges, emotional skills, self-esteem, conflict-resolution, Christian faith, living with a chronic physical illness and ASD.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who graduated from Antioch University Los Angeles with my Master's in Clinical Psychology in 2012. I have worked in counseling in the state of California for 6 years and in the state of Washington since 2020. Before working at Dayspring, my prior counseling experience includes: Play therapy with children and adolescents who were on the spectrum, had ADHD, emotional, trauma or behavioral issues, substance abuse addiction counseling and support groups, family counseling, Parenting group education, pre-marital/couples counseling and counseled women's issues. When requested, provided Faith-based counseling and counseling in Spanish.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m compassionate, non-judgmental, encouraging and provide active listening. Depending on who the client is, I will provide the following: reflective questions, research-based techniques in counseling (including but not limited to family system, psychodynamic theory, narrative theory, client-centered theory, Theraplay® principles and play therapy), help you put things into perspective, mental health education, giving you something to practice as "homework," accountability and coaching support. Additionally, for clients who value faith-based counseling or prefer counseling in Spanish, I can provide that when requested. I've been a Christian since 2011. In my free time, I'm usually with my family, journaling, learning new things, cooking, hiking or dancing. I'm an enneagram #5 in my personality, what this means as a counselor is that I genuinely take time to learn about every person's unique strengths to provide the right tools to help move them closer to their goals.
