About My Clients

I have a passion to support adults and couples on their journey to reconnect with themselves and their loved ones. Being anxious or distressed about your relationship, transition, or life in general, can affect the way you see yourself and others. It can be terrifying and challenging, especially if you’ve experienced trauma. I am committed to providing you a safe space so that you can better understand yourself, improve your ability to make choices, relate to others, and feel whole again.

My Background and Approach

I have tools to share with you so that you can better manage your anxiety and distress. For adults I have taken trained to treat anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am currently in a trauma certification course. For couples, I have taken courses in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman. I am currently in a year-long class at the Couples Institute. My approach to therapy is one that is compassionate and collaborative as I assist you in your personal growth and healing. My therapeutic view is that we are a product of our past. Yet, people have the capability to change, heal, and grow from their experiences. During therapy, I can be your co-pilot and provide you with a safe place to explore your options and their possible consequences.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a military retiree and an immigrant, who speaks Spanish. As a military vet, I have a unique understanding of the complexities of the culture, trauma, family struggles, identity issues, and transition into civilian life. As an immigrant I can relate to the numerous struggles that you face. If you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am an ally with the pronouns she, her, hers. I believe that we learn coping skills when we are growing up in our families or after a traumatic event. According to Psychology Today, "Trauma is the experience of severe psychological distress following any terrible or life-threatening event." At some point in life, we realize that the coping skills we developed after a traumatic event or during childhood are no longer useful for us. Collaboratively, we can navigate through your journey.
