About My Clients

As a first gen queer non-binary Kazakh immigrant, I specialize in working with immigrants and adult children of immigrants, queer, and LGBTQIA+ identified folks. Together, we will collaborate to explore your current struggles, look into your relationships, process your experiences, unpack intergenerational and racial trauma, identify and change patterns of thought and behavior, and gain insight into your life's journey.

My Background and Approach

My own cultural background as a queer immigrant provides me a deep understanding of the nuanced ways that our intersectional identities influence the way we see ourselves. In session, we build a warm, humorous, and authentic relationship to help you reach your goals. I embrace folks of all gender identities, orientations, and countries of origin. I tailor my approach by combining different tools and perspectives to best suit your needs. I draw from psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, emotionally focused and insight-oriented therapy. It takes time and courage to find a therapist you feel connected with. I am looking forward to meeting you, and getting to know your story. I aim to co-create a space with you where you will feel understood, supported, and validated in a safe and empowering way.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Many mental health issues we face in our daily lives can root from cultural and systemic oppression leading to a disconnect from ourselves and from each other. We can find ourselves feeling, or perhaps even being told by others, that it is our responsibility to "fix" ourselves as individuals when issues arise instead of acknowledging the impact of systems outside of our immediate control. I am committed to doing my part in helping to reduce, resist, and externalize internalized oppression in our work together. I have a strong passion for processing issues related to immigration and acculturation, and LGBTQIA+ issues for people of different cultures, identities, and orientations. I utilize art in my personal healing, and I believe in the power of co-creating your healing journey towards intentional growth together.
