I am a therapist specializing in healing trauma, depression and anxiety.
Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in Bend, OR
I have worked in wilderness therapy serving adolescents, adults, and their families. I am skilled at incorportaing experiential techniques (adventure, challenge, art, animals) into client's growing, which allows the client to explore, heal and integrate the body's internalized experience of pain, grief and shame. This is often done in tandem with somatic therapy techniques.
My training is rooted in a relational, trauma-informed and attachment model for healing trauma, resolving shame and finding peace and joy. When considering attachments, we explore how we respond during times of stress - how do we attempt to get our needs met? I assist clients in finding safety and security through healing relationships, and assist them in developing this safety and security within themselves.
I often find clients in unhelpful thought patterns about their emotions, situations, or experiences. When we re-orient to the body (vs. the brain), we access the nervous system's truth - one that our brain may not know or understand. This allows clients to pass rational or intellectual blocks to better understand their pain and suffering, and to explore, resolve and integrate their grief and shame on a much deeper level.
