About My Clients
In my practice, I specialize in working with clients of all ages who identify as transgender/non-binary and/or along the LGBQ+ spectrum. I provide support to clients who are coming out and transitioning, exploring or actively working toward creating families of their own, making the transition to parenthood, and parenting young children. In addition, I help clients work through issues related to ADHD, depression, anxiety, postpartum mood changes, relationship issues, and trauma.
My Background and Approach
Through an affirming and integrative approach, I provide a warm and supportive therapeutic environment for clients to explore their inner selves and make positive changes in their lives. My work with clients is collaborative, as together we delve into the reasons behind persistent challenges and unearth new aspects of their identities and experiences, ultimately making space for growth, healing, and flourishing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I chose to become a social worker because I believe that the work of therapy is ultimately about social justice. At the same time, I recognize that social work and therapy itself have been shaped by white supremacist institutions. As a white therapist, I am committed to the work of decolonizing the therapy space through educating myself, questioning systems of power, and, above all, listening to and following the lead of those with oppressed and marginalized identities. I believe that identities are important and intersectional and that the personal is political. I support the Black Lives Matter and Fat Liberation movements.
