About My Clients
I have experience working with adults ages 18-55+ in a variety of different issues. I specialize in anxiety, identity formation, cultural identity, life transitions and depression. I am LGBTQIA+-affirming, as well as sex and body positive. We are all doing the best we can each day, yet sometimes we can feel overwhelmed. Are you struggling to cope? Feeling unhappy in your relationships? Whatever your journey holds, I will be there to walk alongside you, meeting you where you are.
My Background and Approach
We all share some common ground - we all want to be seen, heard and accepted. I use a client-centered, culturally sensitive approach with elements of CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, EMDR and mindfulness-based practices among others. I believe that therapy can be a transformative experience for those who commit to the process through past hurts, gain healthy coping skills, and move forward in life with a better sense of self. I also believe collaboration with clients on forming a treatment plan is a unique process for each client, as treatment is not one size fits all. Creating a strong relationship imbued with trust, transparency, and support between clinician and client is essential to therapeutic growth and self-discovery. My passion lies in client growth- I care about their journey, healing and achieving an overall better quality of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe as human beings, we are all unique and have our own stories. As such, I think that we all have our own ways of coping, and are informed by past experiences, traumas, and family of origin relationships how to navigate life. I am a supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I provide a safe space for this population. I also offer cultural competency and a safe space to BIPOC and biracial clients who want to navigate struggles with mental health, cultural identity/trauma, and more.
