About My Clients

My clients value growth and healing but are finding themselves stuck in chronic patterns - of fear, overwhelm, or feeling checked out of life. They crave more from their lives, like more meaningful work or deeper relationships, but are unsure of how to get there. Many of my clients feel this way after they've experienced a traumatic event, difficult relationship, or a new medical diagnosis. I believe everyone deserves ease and connection wherever they're at in life.

My Background and Approach

I provide traditional talk therapy with a focus on mindfulness, attachment concerns, and the mind-body connection. In the course of our conversations, I will help you discover your inner wisdom that exists within everyone. This wisdom might include goals or values you are seeking, boundaries you have been craving, or a new sense of aliveness. ‚ÄčThe mind-body connection is a powerful way to access healing. I have training in a somatic-based approach called Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and sometimes this involves using the body as a guide to inner wisdom. I do not use touch in psychotherapy. Instead, we might use somatic coping resources or use somatic processing in session to invite change. Sometimes it can be helpful to add meditation or movement practice to our therapy work. We might weave this in throughout our sessions if it feels supportive to you. Specialized training: Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level II in July 2021), Yoga teacher at 200-hour level, iRest Yoga Nidra (Level I)

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My values are centered around humanism, nonviolence, and organicity. I believe in every human's innate capacity to heal. My training enables to help my clients find their organic, inner path for change. Rather than "fixing" people, I view my role as a resourced supporter and guide as I empower clients toward healing. My belief is that we all develop patterns based on the difficult and traumatic things we have been through. Our behavior is always trying to protect us, though sometimes after we're out of the traumatic situation that same pattern may not be helpful anymore. I help folks gently get to know their patterns, whether it's perfectionism, avoidance, or overwhelm, and find newer and more adaptive patterns to reach their goals. I honor that many traumas arise from the systemic injustice and oppression that exists in society. My nonviolent approach respects my clients' experiences, whether these injustices are due to race, sexuality, gender, body type, disability, religion.
