About My Clients

I work with clients who identify as atheist or agnostic. Many of these folks have separated from their former religions and are learning how to live according to their own values. There is often pressure from family members who do not agree with the change. Clients often struggle with boundaries and expectations of family and friends who are still with a specific faith or congregation. I work with clients to help them find personal freedom without religion.

My Background and Approach

I graduated from Walden University in 2015 with a Master’s in mental health counseling. I went on to pursue a specialty at Grand Canyon University and completed a one-year program in Crisis and Trauma in 2019. I have worked in community mental health and substance abuse facilities. I absolutely love to learn and love to provide counseling services but choose not to work for an agency because I enjoy the freedom and flexibility of working on my own terms. Before pursuing a career in mental health I worked as a sexual assault victim advocate, advocated for children in foster-care, worked with domestic violence survivors, and continue donate time to suicide awareness organizations. I have a passion for working with folks who feel unheard or are marginalized.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. I also believe that healthcare (mental and physical) should be affordable. I realize that we live in a far from perfect world but we can strive to do the most good that we can. Kindness is free, spread it like Nutella!
