About My Clients
I work with everyday people who find it challenging to cope with their current circumstances. They may find themselves in repetitive cycles or re-experiencing similar conflicts. They'd like help to work through their emotional distress, and come to better know why they may feel and act as they do. Depression, anger, anxiety, or other feelings that are driving you to seek therapy are all messages to you. Together, we can begin to understand them.
My Background and Approach
I practice relational psychoanalytic therapy, and also incorporate mindfulness and somatic techniques. Together we'll build a safe, nurturing relationship from which other healing will stem, and learn about what may be taking place unconsciously. This process can provide the freedom to move beyond internal conflict, guilt, and wounds that unconsciously dictate behavior and painful repetitive relational patterns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My focus on adolescent studies pre-doctorally helped inform the developmental understanding I now bring to my work, which was further informed by a two year doctoral and postdoctoral fellowship in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at Wright Institute Los Angeles. Other experiences in community mental health, including a yearlong training program at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, created a solid foundation for serving the LGBTQI+ community and other underserved and disenfranchised communities. With the goal of making mental health treatment more widely accessible for all, I reserves a portion of my practice for sliding scale treatment. I am not in network with any insurance companies, however I can provide you with a superbill if you have coverage for out of network services.
