About My Clients
My clients are interesting and motivated people who are on a journey to understand themselves and their environments more clearly. I specialize in working with people who are part of the LGBTQIA community, those who are looking to explore their gender identity, people who identify as neurodivergent, those who are caregivers, those who live with chronic illness, and those who experience symptoms from depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.
My Background and Approach
I have been a social worker since 2005 and have worked in many varied settings. My goal as a therapist is to affirm you in who you are and want to be, and to help you figure out what goals you want to set for yourself. We will work together to help you get to the point where you feel capable of not only managing in life, but thriving despite your past or what may be happening all around us. I utilize CBT, DBT, and feminist theoretical approaches. At this time I cannot accept insurance for those who live in NC. See my website for current insurance I can accept for those who live in TX.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a feminist, culturally curious and reality-based therapist. I believe we must discuss the greater world that affects us and how we fit into each system we are a part of. As a white, CIS woman, I seek to understand and affirm those who are different than I am and those who are similar to me. I am social-justice oriented and identify deeply as a social worker who seeks to make positive change in the world by providing equitable services to those in my community.
