About My Clients
I enjoy working with individuals who identify within the LGBTQ community and those dealing with anxiety and depression. I also enjoy using geek culture in sessions by finding a way to bridge the gap between video games, pop culture, anime, and our daily lives. This helps me meet the client where they are in searching for commonalities. I help clients by providing resources and work to support them to be successful in their lives. I want to meet you where you are.
My Background and Approach
My professional background involves working with individuals who identify with the LGBTQ community and those dealing with anxiety and depression. I help clients by providing resources and work to support them and their families through decision making, crisis, conflicts, and grief and loss issues. I have worked in community mental health and for a supported living agency. Each job has given me more experience to help those that need someone to talk to. You will be welcomed, unjudged, supported, and validated in whatever area you are seeking change. It takes courage to start therapy but once you do, you will be rewarded throughout your journey in ways you never dreamed of.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy is about helping you find your true self and believe that the client is the expert in their own life. I do not play the role of an expert in my client’s life. I do however act as a guide, advocate, educator, and support person. I will attempt to see your issues from your perspective and your view of the world. I have been part of the LGBT community for 20 years and am currently partnered with a Transman. I have volunteered at the Lambert House, an LGBT youth drop-in center for the last 11 years.
