About My Clients
My ultimate goal is to bring clarity and focus to my clients; while dispelling perceived weaknesses, and focusing on your strengths. You are unique and should be treated as such. I welcome, and encourage, your individuality by specifically tailoring goals and interventions to your personal needs. I want to help you achieve your personal goals while showing you insights into the empowering, resilient, and brilliant human being you are.
My Background and Approach
I completed my undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology in 2007, form Minnesota State University- Moorhead. Soon after, I began working as a Behavior Therapist at an Autism day treatment facility for children and adolescents. Having a desire to relocate, I found myself accepting a position as a Psychometrist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Most recently, I continue working as a Psychometrist with Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, but also as a Neuopsychological Behavioral Health Intervention Specialist. In December of 2019, I graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in psychotherapy and counseling, with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler Graduate School. I have had the honor of completing internships with Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge focusing once again on addiction and chemical dependency, as well as The Walk-in Counseling Center which provides free counseling services to those in our community.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am grounded in theory which views each individual as the meaning makers in their own lives; you create and determine your own life path. My therapeutic interventions focus on the positive, amplifying your strengths verses focusing on perceived weaknesses and are specifically tailored to each client. I believe therapist and client should work collaboratively to make meaning of life experiences, while creating your best reality and moving forward. As a mental health professional, I strive to create a genuine, empowering, forgiving, and uplifting atmosphere where kindness, honesty, and authenticity are at the forefront of my professional practice.
