We all have a story…how you tell it is what counts. You are already realized, you just do not know it…

Serving in the United States Army Infantry left me with a deep respect for those who have chosen to serve and an understanding of their world. Nothing humbles me more than being trusted to serve our veterans in a therapeutic relationship—facing things such as PTSD is a bravery all its own.
I have also spent several years working in addiction recovery. I have come to believe in the self-medication theory of substance use and the necessity to discover what may be driving such behavior. ‘Addiction’ is a misunderstood dynamic, and although there is not a ‘one size fits all’ way to resolve the psychopathology resultant of true addiction, the use of a positive psychology approach is a cornerstone that builds on strengths and develops habits that help instead of hurt.
I began my therapeutic work with adolescents and consider them a ‘niche’ of mine. Experiencing a challenging adolescence myself, along with being in secondary education for the past 16 years, I have developed an intimate understanding of their world on several levels—developmentally, educationally, and from a family systems perspective.
