Most people have some level of anxiety, but many become stuck when anxiety takes hold. I help my clients to develop tools to handle their anxiety and recognize that with anxiety comes the potential for growth and change.
I believe that attachment is the foundation for all relationships. I help my clients to understand their attachment style and how this may be preventing them from living the life that they want/.
The child who comes into my office with the "problem" is typically just a piece of the bigger picture. Let's face it, parenting in 2022 is extremely difficult. Depression and anxiety have skyrocketed in the years since the introduction of social media. If we want our kids to change, usually the parents will have to make some changes as well.
I believe that attachment is the foundation for all relationships. I help my clients to understand their attachment style and how this may be preventing them from developing healthy relationships and ultimately living the life that they want.
Attachment theory suggests that the relationships we had with our caretakers early in life create an attachment style which is then carried into all subsequent relationships throughout the lifespan. About half of the population has developed an insecure attachment style as a result of attachment wounds in their primary relationships. These wounds are then carried into relationships and prevent them from finding the security they desire.
You are not your thoughts. CBT or Cognitive Behavior Therapy is an approach by which recognizing and taking control of your thoughts can lead to changes in your emotional and behavioral responses.
Experiential therapy is a holistic approach by which we engage the entire body in the therapeutic process. This engagement leads to the utilization of more regions of the brain which then leads to better integration.
My work with couples utilizes an attachment-based perspective. Through the attachment lens, I will help you to uncover the underlying issues which are preventing you from having the relationships you want.
Depression can affect every aspect of your life. When it takes hold, it creates a cycle that makes getting relief feel impossible. Through an evidence-based approach, I will help you to take control of the thoughts and behaviors which perpetuate depression.
I work with the entire family to improve communication, increase connection and restore harmony.
I work with couples who feel disconnected and misunderstood. I use an eclectic approach including EFT, Gottman and attachment based interventions to help couples gain deeper insight into their own experience as well as find mutual ground with their partners.
Brainspotting is often used to reprocess traumatic memories, but it is beneficial for a wide range of issues and can be faster at targeting stuck memories than talk therapy alone.
