About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples working on problems including anxiety, depression, maternal mental health, communication, intimacy issues, recovering from affairs, coping with changes after bringing home a new baby, parenting challenges, adjusting to life changes, and women's issues.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I have a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Immaculata University and I continue to enrich my education with certifications and instructions that are applicative to my therapeutic specialties. I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my therapy work. I have also completed Gottman's advanced training, Treating Trauma and Affairs. I have completed training from Postpartum Support International (PSI) in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Components of Care. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, as well as training from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on supporting transgender and gender non-conforming clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I believe that clients already possess the skills and resilience to solve problems and cope with challenges when they arrive to therapy, but that when times are tough, it is difficult to grab onto those skills. Certain life experiences like getting married, having children, or problems in a close relationship can leave us feeling unmoored. Therapy can be an opportunity to recognize areas of your life that need attention, use the strengths that you already have to address them, identify areas for potential growth, and learn new ways to deal with difficult emotions.
