I love working with individuals who feel that their high-achieving, perfectionistic, and overcontrolled patterns aren’t working for them anymore. In my own experiences of anxiety, rigidity, and perfectionism, I re-discovered the healing process of making. I believe our right brain and bodies can be a powerful source of wisdom in a society where dualism, logic, and order reign. My approach is also informed by Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT). RO-DBT uses self-enquiry, play, and flexible mind skills to help individuals experience social safety and decrease excessive self-control.
No artistic skill is required to participate in art therapy. The process of making is often just as important as the final product. Sessions may incorporate a combination of talking and creating to express thoughts, feelings, and actions. While I believe everyone can benefit from art therapy and the creative process, I work with individuals to tailor sessions to support their healing journey.
